Real or Fake advice

The importance of our health has finally become a major topic of interest for most people.  Whether it is related to food, exercise, alternative options, you can find a number of articles and studies to support or not support your personal beliefs.

As you read through your inbox at some of the amazing findings, please keep the following questions in mind:

How was the study/research funded?
Who are the authors(pharma, NIH, academy)?
How many were involved in the study/research?  If under 50 people, too small to draw conclusions.
Was there a placebo group to match the results to?

More than ever, we need to take responsibility for our own health.  We shouldn’t leave it up to anyone else or organization. The best way to do this is to read and learn, experiment with some of the findings – they may or may not work for you, and learn to listen to your body, not just your head.

We are all different – due to our ancestry, families, environments, etc.  We will react differently to food and movement choices – there is no “one size fits all.”   This past year has been an amazing journey of learning and experimenting for me.  I hope that you find a way to get to know yourself and improve your health in the coming months.
